En tant que cin\u00e9aste ind\u00e9pendant, il a produit et r\u00e9alis\u00e9 plus de dix films, dont le long m\u00e9trage Sadhana \u2013 Back to the Source, acclam\u00e9 par la critique. Jean-Pierre est \u00e9galement r\u00e9cipiendaire de trois bourses du Conseil des Arts du Canada : une pour la r\u00e9alisation de films et deux pour l'\u00e9criture de sc\u00e9narios.
