The 80-minute feature film titled \u2018Sadhana-Back to the Source\u2019 chronicles the spiritual journey of a young Westerner who set out in search of the ancient wisdom of the East, which is still very much alive in India.<\/p>\n
During the next months, he travels from the hotlands of Southern India (Mount Arunachala) to the source of the Ganges River in the Himalayas. Along the way, he meets holymen and spiritual teachers (among them, the Benedictine monk Father Bede Griffiths who runs the Shantivanam Ashram, a bridge between Eastern and Western Cultures and Religions, Swami Premananda and Swami Shyam), travels and learns the discipline of detachment with an Udasin sadhu, is being initiated to meditation with a swami at the foothills of Himalayas, and attends India’s most sacred religious festival, the Kumbha Mela.<\/p>\n
